This marketing approach requires strategies to help you master the global markets and connect with the consumer in the most acceptable way.
In my experience, this starts with proper new marketing research to understand who your consumers are, the countries they’re from, what form of your products or services appeal more to them, and the best approach that will work for them.
The marketing process may also require localizing your brand to reflect the needs and desires of the people the strategy means to reach.
With that said, localization is critical for every global marketing plan. Some brands opt for a global standardization strategy, meaning it’s the same for everyone.
5 Global Marketing Strategies Explained
1. Localization
Localization means adapting a brand, product, or service to feel like it’s made for a specific local market, even if it originally comes from somewhere else.
Here’s what marketing localization usually involves:
- Translating content into the local language.
- Adapting style and layout to match local buying habits.
- Tweaking visuals, colors, and designs to suit cultural preferences.
- Displaying prices in local currency and the right measurement units (e.g., metric).
- Formatting dates, addresses, and phone numbers based on local norms.
- Using popular local communication channels.
- Ensuring global campaigns comply with local laws.
